People began to use thimbles hundreds of years ago. Mass production of thimbles began in the 19th century. In Czech Republic thimbles were produced in all middle-sized porcelain factories. However, today it's only a very small part of their bussines. Although collecting thimbles is extremely popular in the rest of the world, Czech Republic still lags behind. There are only a few collectors today. That's the reason why I would like to help expand this interesting domain in Czech Republic as well. My objective is to create the largest series of thimbles with castle, manor and other sightseeing themes of Bohemia and Moravia. The persons concerned can get thimbles right at the sights, in the nearby shops or they can order them directly from this website. I think thimbles are an interesting sort of souvenir, reminding you after many years of the place you have visited or friends from whom you got them.
